7th Annual PTA Jog-a-thon
Monday, October 7th
It's time to begin collecting pledges for the Jog-a-thon!
Each student should have brought home a neon pink pledge sheet. If you can't find yours, extras are in the brochure rack on the wall near the main entry.

This event is the PTA’s primary fundraiser and we hope to have every family participate!  Our first Jog-a-thon was held in 2007 and has been a greater success with each passing year thanks to the participation and dedication of students and parents.  Thank you all for your hard work.  Let’s all get together to make our seventh one the best yet!

What Is the Jog-a-Thon?
On Jog-a-Thon day, students have the opportunity to run, walk, or skip as many laps as they can complete in 30 minutes.
Schedule:
K-2 9:00-9:30 am
3-5 10:00-10:30 am
6-8 11:00-11:30 am

A pledge sheet is a form for your child to obtain pledges for the laps they will complete.  Even one pledge makes a difference in the success of the Jog-a-Thon.  Family members, friends, and co-workers are great sources of pledges.  Donors may choose to make a “per lap” donation, or a flat donation.  We ask that each child try to collect a minimum of $50 in pledges and donations.  PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO SOLICIT DOOR TO DOOR.

When Do We Return the Pledge Sheet and Money?
Only the filled out pledge sheet should be returned to your child’s teacher by Thursday, October 3th, 2013. Following the Jog-a-Thon, parent helpers will write the number of laps your child completed on the pledge sheet and the form will be returned to you so your child can collect their pledges.  The pledge sheet and the money collected should then be placed in an envelope and returned, clearly marked with your child’s name and teacher’s name, by Thursday, October 17, 2013.  (Any money collected after Oct. 17th cannot be used to qualify for prizes).  Checks should be made payable to CHPCS PTA, and include your child’s name and teacher in the memo.
Please check with your employer to see if they have a matching gifts program and make a pledge that your employer will match dollar for dollar.

Prizes
The class that collects the most money will have a special treat (to be announced) and the top earner from each class will receive an individual prize.

Can We Come and Help?
Yes and please!  We would appreciate your help to mark down laps on the runners' lap cards as they go by, handing out water, collecting lap cards and entering the number of laps on the pledge sheets.  If you can help for any amount of time on jog-a-thon day, go to
or send an email to volunteer@chpcs.org

If you have any questions, you may email volunteer@chpcs.org.
Thanks in advance for helping to make our 7th Annual Jog-a-Thon a huge success!
